Titles

The titles of our film is very important as it is key to setting the themes and pace of the film. Our initial idea was to show the titles in the basement against the wall although in later editing we discovered that this was not an ideal place to begin the credits, as it took all pace and suspense out of the film. After discussing further possible ideas we decided that the best best place to put the title is within the chase scene switching from shots to titles and back again, we plan to do this at a very fast speed to keep the pace of the scene are titles. We plan to use an image of a cold metal cage, zoomed in close, this adds mystery as its not clear to the audience as what the image displays. this raises many questions. We plan to use a bold text to grab the viewers attention and easy visibility.

I will now evaluate some some credits of various TV shows and film.

Wallander

The first thing you notice about this title sequence is the bold yellow which devours the screen, then the soft key of screen non diegetic music, which is contrast to the the harsh dramatic scene shown previous to the titles. As gaps appear in the yellow it becomes apparent that there's a bold text within it. and within the text there is various close ups of the main character shown in a dark blue light suggesting he is dark and mysterious. The combination of blue and yellow creates a very clear image as they are contrasting colours, it's also similar to the the Swedish flag, which is very clever as Wallander is originally a Swedish series. The text which the titles are in is bold black and clear so its easily visible.

  2. Rather limited Matt given the time you have had to complete this. Far more detail and analysis needed here. As I mentioned above can you post a rough cut on the blog so you can get some audience feedback.
